240-80 Pneumatic swing clamp with magnetic sensors, top flange, double-acting, pmax. 7 bar
Swing clamps of this type are used as tension cylinders. Pressure is applied to the ring surface of the piston for clamping.
Info
During the linear movement, the piston also moves rotationally over the defined swivel curve at the defined angle. Only when this superimposed movement is complete does the piston move linearly within the clamping range. It is important that the swivel movement of the mounted clamping arm is not impeded because there is no built-in collision protection, as is the case with hydraulic swing clamps, for example. These swing clamps are equipped with a permanent magnet on the piston. Adjustable positions of the piston can be measured using the magnetic sensors available as accessories. This allows, for example, the open and clamped position of the piston to be queried for automated feeding of the application.
Operation:
The clamping force of these cylinders is pressure-dependent. Compressed air must be supplied via a suitable pneumatic maintenance unit to ensure the necessary preparation of the compressed air: The speed of the clamping process must be influenced via throttle valves if necessary. Otherwise, the general operating conditions for pneumatic systems must be observed.

Operating conditions:
The maximum operating temperature of the swing clamp cylinder and the magnetic sensors must not exceed 80°C.

Special notes:
The magnetic sensors react to the permanent magnet inside the cylinder. The magnetic field is influenced by steel chips from outside, so that the switching point can change. For this reason, care must be taken to ensure that steel materials do not come into the vicinity of the cylinder. A minimum distance of 30 mm should be maintained.
