280-70 Support elements for low pressure screw-in, contact by spring, actuation with hydraulics, pmax. 70 bar
These support elements (ASE) are the ideal solution when it comes to preventing vibrations and deflection when machining workpieces in the low-pressure range.
Info
These support elements (ASE) are the ideal solution when it comes to preventing vibrations and deflection when machining workpieces in the low-pressure range. The screw-in elements can be screwed into customer-specific threaded holes to save space. They are sealed against the base of the hole with two supplied sealing rings. The support elements can be arranged horizontally and vertically in the clamping device. The hydraulic clamping can be combined with the hydraulic clamping of the workpiece or carried out separately. Two modes of operation are available for applying the support bolt.
Type 1: Application by spring force
Type 2: Hydraulic clamping
1. contact by spring force
Basic position of the bolt: extended
The integrated spring presses the support plunger against the workpiece. When pressure is applied, the support plunger is fixed in position. Apart from the spring force, no other forces act on the workpiece.
2. contact by hydraulics
Basic position of the bolt: retracted
The support plunger is held in the retracted position by a return spring. When pressure is applied, the support plunger extends with spring force against the workpiece and is fixed in this position.
Important notes:
The support elements must be selected so that the support capacity is at least 1.5 times the clamping force plus the machining force. No lateral forces may act on the support plunger. The maximum operating pressure of 70 bar must not be exceeded. Otherwise the support elements may be damaged. If there is a risk of coolant/lubricant penetrating the support element during machining, a ventilation line must be connected. We recommend screwing in the support elements so far that the support bolt already touches the workpiece in the middle stroke. This allows different workpiece heights to be compensated for during operation.
