500-3 Rotary unions without/with leakage oil return, nominal sizes 5/10, pmax. 400/350 bar
Rotatry unions transfer hydraulic oil from a stationary to a rotating machine part.
Info
Installation is carried out in the axis of rotation of the assembly. Depending on the number of connection levels, several single or double-acting hydraulic elements can be connected. In principle, the rotary union can only be used for hydraulic oil. If pneumatics are to be transmitted, the cataloged elements can be used if the air is filtered and lubricated, thus ensuring seal lubrication and corrosion protection. When planning, it must be taken into account that the rotary movement is hindered by seal friction. This frictional resistance is pressure-dependent and must be taken into account for the drive torque of the rotary table. Corresponding information can be found in the associated diagrams, which show the starting torques that are present when all connection levels are pressurized.
Important operating instructions:
The operating pressure and speed must be matched to each other for the operating conditions. Observe the specifications for the individual rotating unions. Operating temperature: -10°C to +60°C
The rotating union may only be put into operation when all connection levels are connected to the pressure generator in order to ensure the necessary seal lubrication. The multi-wire rotary feedthroughs have axial and radial threaded connections in the rotary piston. They can also be flanged axially to the rotary piston with O-rings. Always calculate the necessary bolt forces for the fastening bolts here.
Ordering information:
The operating conditions should be specified when making an inquiry or placing an order. These are e.g. operating pressure, medium, type of function (for single or double-acting clamping elements) and the cycle times.

Functional principle:
The rotating union must be mounted in such a way that no bending moment is exerted on the stationary or rotating component. It has proven successful to screw the rotating rotary piston to the connections to the clamping devices and only secure the stationary housing against rotation (do not introduce any bearing forces). The line connection from the torque arm to the housing should only be made via hose lines.
